Ratio Phase II — Call for Applications

Submit original work to help build Ratio, a law entrance test prep platform committed to making high-quality legal test prep, especially for CLAT and AILET, free and accessible to everyone.

🏗️ What We’ve Done (Phase I)

We filed RTI requests and procured past year papers for CLAT and AILET. All past year papers can be accessed as mocks in timed, untimed and with immediate feedback. We have built in custom feedback for right and wrong answers. We have also created workbooks where one can solve questions by question types across the years from 2020-2025

🚀 What We’re Building (Phase II)

As first steps in Phase II, we’re now working on high-quality written lessons for specific sub-topics we have identified based based on a review of past year papers.

Eventually, we want to work on video lessons and build out the platform. But for now, our focus is on written lessons.

✍️ What You Can Apply To Do

We’re looking for contributors to write original explainers/lessons on the topics listed below. You may choose to contribute to a specific sub-topic or suggest your own structure. A good submission/sample lesson has also been provided below (both as a google doc with the content and what the lesson looks like on the platform).

What is Ratio?

Ratio is a free and open law entrance test prep platform. Paid prep will always exist and will serve many well. We did not find an equally good open, free and accessible legal test prep platform (think Khan Academy for Indian law entrance test prep) and hence, we decided to build one.

What have we built so far?

We have largely completed Phase I where past year CLAT, AILET and NLSAT (work in progress) are uploaded on the platform. Students can attempt timed and untimed past year papers and can also practise past year questions by topics.

How can I contribute?

We are building this on a voluntary basis and there are no full time folks. So our idea is to do this in phases. As set out above, we are now in Phase II where we will be creating written lessons. We are looking for high quality content from top quality contributors.

Please look at the sample list of topics and sample lesson on the platform. If you think you can help by creating similar (or even better) content, then please share your work on a Google Doc by clicking on the Apply Now button! If we like the quality of your work, we will reach out to you and take the conversation forward. We ideally want to build this with a small group of committed folks. So, if you think you can help contribute to an entire section, please feel free to let us know in the comments section of your application as well!

While we encourage submission of content on a voluntary basis, we are conscious of the time and effort involved in making good content and hence, we are very much open to monetary payments as well.

I have submitted an application. What next?

Thank you for taking the time and effort to submit an application. As next steps, we will review your application and get back to you on whether we would like to proceed or not.

I have a few queries/ideas. How do I reach out?

Please use the Forum on the platform to ask your questions. We will respond as soon as we can!

We are trying to figure out how to get the word out there about the platform. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to start a topic on Forum! Please also share the platform with your network!
